Board and Governance

The Governing Authority of Samaritan College is the Catholic Diocese of Port Pirie Incorporated and is governed by the College Board constituted according to Catholic Education South Australia’s Manual for School Board Members, 2012. Board members sit a two year term of office and can be elected for 3 terms. Outgoing Board members are updated at the Annual General Meeting each year.

Members are coopted to the Board from time to time.  The following Sub-Committees have been established to deal with specific tasks:

  • Uniform
  • Finance
  • Policy
  • Parents and Friends

A Board and College delegate are represented on the Parish Council acting as conduits between both.

The Board is a clear sign of partnership between parish and school, parents and staff, and in particular, between the school and the broader Church community. Membership of the Board reflects the diversity of the school community and the different voices, experiences and perspectives that support the Catholic ethos of the College.
