Vocational Education and Training (VET)

Vocational Education and Training (VET) incorporates various training packages that give students the opportunity to work towards attaining work related skills, whilst achieving their SACE. VET operates through a national training system, and is delivered, assessed and certified by Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).

Students in Years 11 and 12 can choose to pursue VET as a part of their studies. There are a diverse range of courses available, which may lead to apprenticeships and employment in the trades and sectors such as heavy industry, health, hospitality and retail.

Currently, Samaritan College offers classes in Certificate II in Engineering and Certificate III in Hospitality.

Students wishing to commence VET studies towards their SACE are encouraged to speak to the VET and Careers Coordinator prior to enrolling in any training courses with an Registered Training Organisation(RTO).
