Shrove (Pancake) Tuesday

The day before Ash Wednesday in which pancakes are made and eaten in preparation for the fasting during Lent.  Traditionally the luxury foods were used up in the household to enable a simple existence with staple foods during Lent.

Each of the Campuses will celebrate Shrove Tuesday.  Other names for Shrove Tuesday you may be familiar with are Pancake Tuesday, Fat Tuesday or Mardis Gras. ( Not to be confused with more recent Mardis Gras festivals which have grown in popularity.)
